Tropea

A small town perched on a cliff along Calabria's coast, with one of Italy's most beautiful beaches right below the old town, my longest stop of the entire trip.

Getting to Tropea

Independent arrival by car, from Alberobello about 4.25 hours' drive over roughly 400 km through the impressive landscape of southern Italy. Alternatives: train and bus (takes longer but is cheaper) or a flight to the nearest airport, Lamezia Terme, followed by train or rental car. Tip: The streets in Tropea are partly narrow, parking is limited in high season, accommodation with its own parking is recommended.
