Getting to Finkenberg

From Achensee the route leads via the B181 through the Inn Valley and on via the Zillertal road to Finkenberg, around 60 kilometers and about 1 hour of driving. By train, the Zillertalbahn runs from Jenbach to Mayrhofen, from there it's on by bus or taxi, around 2 hours total. The bus from Achensee via Schwaz and Mayrhofen takes about 2.5 hours.

Natur Eis Palast

At the Hintertux Glacier, a unique natural wonder deep within the eternal ice. Guided tours through a fascinating ice cave, impressive ice formations, frozen waterfalls and sparkling crystals, plus a boat tour on an underground glacier lake.

Verdict: An unforgettable experience in the middle of a glacier, the boat trip inside the glacier was an absolute highlight, a must for anyone visiting the Zillertal.

Natur Eis Palast

Brau Kunst Haus (Zell am Ziller)

Just a few kilometers from Finkenberg, exciting insights into the art of brewing. An interactive experience world on the history of beer brewing, insights into the production of Zillertal beer, a beer tasting with regional specialties, souvenir shop. Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm.

Verdict: A great experience for beer lovers and the curious alike, the modern exhibition is interactive and entertaining, the tasting at the end rounds off the visit perfectly.

Finkenberger Almbahnen

Take you comfortably up to 1,750 m, a spectacular entry point into the Penken ski and hiking area. Fast and comfortable ascent, breathtaking panoramic views of the Zillertal Alps, numerous hiking and mountain biking routes from the top station, direct access to perfectly groomed ski slopes in winter.

Verdict: Whether summer or winter, the Finkenberger Almbahnen are the ideal starting point for outdoor adventures in the Zillertal Alps.
