In August 2022 we visited Heiligenhafen for a weekend trip to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the fresh sea air.
Heiligenhafen is a charming small town on the eastern tip of the Wagrien Peninsula in Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the Baltic Sea. The city is a wonderful place to escape from everyday life and experience the maritime flair of the region.
We were immediately drawn to the picturesque streets and idyllic atmosphere of Heiligenhafen. The fresh breeze of the sea and the beautiful surroundings gave us a perfect getaway. Although we only spent a few days there, we took away many unforgettable memories and impressions of Heiligenhafen.
Location: The property is in a central location and right on the beachCost: From 190€ per nightValue for money: GoodPositives: The property offers an exceptionally beautiful view of the sea and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The SPA area invites you to relax and the breakfast inspired us with its variety, quality and delicious preparation. Vegans also get their money's worth here, as there is a wide range of vegan dishes.
Cons: Nothing
Conclusion: We will definitely stay at the Beach Motel again on our next visit to Heiligenhafen and can warmly recommend it. Info:
The hotel also offers a private cinema room, a spa, a swimming pool, a sauna and a gym.
The beach in Heiligenhafen is a long, fine sandy beach that stretches over several kilometers. It is particularly popular with sun worshipers and water sports enthusiasts and offers many opportunities for swimming, surfing, kiting and stand-up paddling. The beach is well-equipped with sun loungers, parasols and beach chairs, and there are numerous cafes and restaurants nearby. The beach is also a popular starting point for walks and bike rides along the coast.
Directions:
Heiligenhafen has an impressive cliff that stretches along the Baltic Sea coast. The cliffs are a popular destination for walkers and hikers who want to enjoy the stunning views of the sea and surrounding countryside. In some places there are also small beaches and bays that invite you to swim and sunbathe. The cliffs are an important part of Heiligenhafen's natural beauty and a must-see for any visitor.
I would rather go to the beach in Heiligenhafen for swimming, but the cliffs are nice for walking and taking photos.
The marina in Heiligenhafen offers numerous berths for boats and yachts. It is located directly on the Baltic Sea and offers a beautiful view of the sea and the beach. The port has modern facilities such as showers, toilets, barbecue areas, a children's playground, washing machines and electricity connections and is an ideal starting point for sea excursions. There are also numerous restaurants and shops nearby.

The Graswarder is a landscape protection area and a former island. This was then connected to the then Steinwarder island and has since been a peninsula near Heiligenhafen.
The peninsula offers a beautiful beach and a rich range of flora and fauna. The Graswarder is a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers and cyclists.
